Ham’s Medium

Ham’s medium was first created for use in the clonal expansion of mouse L cells and Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells.

Ham’s medium is frequently used for a variety of rodent cell cultures, including mouse hybridoma, rat, and rabbit cells, along with serum or serum-derived supplements. It has been claimed that multiple formulations of Ham’s media, including Ham’s F-10, Ham’s F-12, and Ham’s F-12K (Kaighn’s), which are each distinguished by a special formulation of amino acids and salts, can support the growth of differentiated cells and primary cultures.
