Minimal Essential Medium (MEM)

Minimal essential medium (MEM), a synthetic cell culture medium created by Harry Eagle for tissue culture. It is based on the six salts and glucose provided in Earle’s salts.

One of the most widely used cell culture media, and it works well for a wide range of mammalian cells (adherent or suspension cell types).
